Privacy
Short version: this is a quiet site. No tracking cookies, no ads, and we never sell your data.
Cookies
Emberwave does not set tracking or advertising cookies. The Atmosphere controls (warmth, dim, ember glow) save your choice in your own browser’s local storage so the room looks the same next time. That setting stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Visit counts
We count visits in a privacy-friendly way so we know which pages and notes people find useful. For each page view we record the page path, the name of the site that sent you (not the full link), any campaign tags in the address, your rough country, and whether you are on a phone, tablet, or computer. When you click through to YouTube, we also record which video you opened.
We never store your raw IP address. To avoid counting the same visit twice, our server mixes your IP address and browser type with a secret value and today’s date into a one-way visitor hash. That hash changes every day, so it cannot be used to follow you from one day to the next or across other websites. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, we skip counting entirely.
YouTube
Many links on this site go to our videos on YouTube. When you follow one, or press play on an embedded player on our Watch pages, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies. Our embeds use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) mode.
Fonts and images
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and video thumbnails from YouTube’s image servers, so those services see a normal web request from your browser.
Selling or sharing data
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information about visitors, and we do not run third-party ad trackers.
